Musician of Romanian tradition, coming from a well-known family of “lautari “ musicians of the village from Clejani – Romania, will held the workshop “Empathic Vibration” on the Street Cigani Music. In occasion of workshop, he will be supported by 2 top musicians of his band: Catalin Gheorghe and Viorel Fundament

From Monday 19th to Friday 23th November 2018
at Teatro Perla,  Via Conventati 6 – Montegranaro (Italy)

Work time: every day from 10.00 am to 01.00 pm (2 hrs break for lunch), then from 03.00 pm to 18.00 pm (with a 15 mins coffee break)

Once in your life, you have the chance to work together with the best Tzigani musicians, arriving straight from Clejani, the Romanian village worlwide considered as the very cradle of entire generations of Lautari musicians! Aurel Ionita, founder of the famous Mahala Rai Banda, together with Catalin Gheorghe and Viorel Fundament, will drive you in the scarcely known world of the Cigani music of Romania!

The workshop is aimed to…
This workshop is completely free, expect for own accommodation and travel costs. It is addressed both to professionals, in particular from the ambit of classic music, aiming to enlarge and enrich in an unusal way own professional heritage, and to music students who firmly believe that not all musical styles can be learned in a conservatory…also street musician and artists already part of street bands or theatre companies are much welcome…

The course will be articulated in a first phase with some tests, audits, harmony lessons, oral teaching, style interpreation.

The “teaching” phase will be strictly in “Cigani style”: no written music, just hearing and playing, oral secrets, tricks and suggestions, and try, and try again until the final ensamble result !

Final results

  1. at the end the participants will return home having acquired a repertoire of 4/5 cigani songs
  2. a final ensemble concert of about 30 minutes will be performed in Montegranaro, better if on public square…

It is essential to arrive with own instrument: violin, guitar, contrabass, percussions et cuivres (brass as tube, trombone, trompette, also saxophone, clarinette…), accordions various type

Participants: up to 24, further registrations after this limit can be evaluated
